Costing
All installations are site specific, depending on wind strength, water type and intake and delivery systems as well as any additional power that might be required. Each plant is therefore the subject of detailed engineering and planning design, all of which effects the total cost and operating overhead. We work with our engineers who are able to conduct independent pre-feasibility studies on sites that may be suitable.
All the normal infrastructure delivery models can be discussed. We also have institutional investors willing to discuss involvement in public and private installations.
Carbon Credits
These plants attract various types of benefits designed to encourage renewable energy in our society. These include RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates) and ACs (Abatement Certificates). The markets for these vary from established to start-up but are generally expected to mature once the Federal Government's policy is known in this area. Various State specific schemes also exist. We have specialists who can advise potential clients.
Diesel Rebates
The normal diesel rebate scheme applies for fuel used in electricity production. This however is currently limited to 100% fossil based diesel and up to 20% bio-diesel blends. Any higher proportion of bio-diesel does not qualify. This is obviously a totally unsupportable position given the Governments stated objectives of encouraging renewable energy, let alone the objective of reducing green-house gasses. We support the use of bio-diesel made largely from reclaimed animal fats. Further information on the comparative pollutants from these fuels can be provided.
Note: Several of the statements above are specific to Australian installations. The situation in other countries will vary.
